Active Fault-Tolerant Control Applied to a Pressure Swing Adsorption Process for the Production of Bio-Hydrogen

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology is used in various applications. PSA a cost-effective process with the ability to produce high-purity bio-hydrogen (99.99%) high recovery rates. In this article, for production of proposed; it uses two columns packed type 5A zeolite, and has four-step configuration (adsorption, depressurization, purge, repressurization) regeneration beds. The aim work design use an active fault-tolerant control (FTC) controller raise maintain stable purity 0.9999 molar fraction (99.99%), even occurrence actuator faults. To validate robustness performance proposed discrete FTC, been compared PID (proportional–integral–derivative) presence faults trajectory changes. Both controllers achieve by reducing effect faults; however, not robust multiple since desired lost fails meet international standards be as bio-fuel.
